The Art of Gel Printing is a hands-on, creative experience starting with an introduction to materials like acrylic paints, stencils, and textures. Participants will learn to create monoprints using a gel plate and be guided through layering techniques, experimenting with color and composition, and transferring their designs onto paper. Each participant leaves with unique prints and newfound skills, along with a brayer and 5x7 gel plate to continue exploring this wonderful art form.

Kathie Scrimgeour

Kathie Scrimgeour is a multidisciplinary artist with a primary focus on visual arts. Kathie has developed a distinctive style through her work in gel monotype printing—a process that blends spontaneity with intention to create one-of-a-kind prints. Her art is known for its rich textures, layered compositions, and vibrant use of color, through abstract expression. Kathie’s work is exhibited at the Southern Arizona Arts Guild (SAAG) Gallery and also available through the Tucson Museum of Art's gift shop. With a background in a variety of arts and years of experience as a photographer, she explores the intersections of pattern, color, and form. Her dedication to experimentation and craftsmanship has earned her recognition within the regional arts community, where she continues to inspire through both her creative process and her finished works.
