My choice of scratchboard, for a medium to channel my artistic ability, came to be in 2012. It was used to put my severe PTSD, inherited from Vietnam, in a place that could be dealt with. I was self taught the art where trial and error molded what you see today. I found 140 portraits of Native Americans that Edward Curtis photographed and wanted to complete all, with no intention of selling them. I was going to leave the collection for someone to find and maybe it would be inspirational and thought provoking. People offering to buy them and to maybe have the opportunity to have them in a show at a respected gallery brought me to Tubac, AZ, Tubac and the Center for the Arts.
